This grant was the second grant I submitted to help improve Bester's library collection. It consists of 15 books as well as posters and bookmarks. I knew as soon as I arrived at Bester and started using the library collection that it was lacking. All of the books in this collection were chosen to encourage young people to read and understand great literature while exploring themes in American history.
This was the second grant I wrote, but was the first one I was notified that I had received. I was very surprised. I will be adding the books to the library collection and promoting the books with the students and teachers as required by the grant.
Reflection - I will continue to apply for grants to improve the library and Bester. I will also be promoting the books from the grant program as required by the grant
