Owned and operated by the Board of Education for students in Washington County, Maryland, Fairview hosts about 6,000 students, K-12 yearly. Fairview has beds for 120 students in three dorms, and in addition, 10 teacher beds in connected private rooms to each dorm. Two dining halls, a main activity building called the "Roundhouse," assorted work-
shops, science building and picnic and campfire areas are found on the 100 acre site.

Fairview has a challenge course is available for use by students. For safety reasons only Fairview staff is allowed to facilitate on the course. Challenge course programs can be designed for students in grades K - 12. The challenge course provides a wonderful opportunity for students to work together as a team to accomplish a variety of challenging tasks. Fairview can design a program to meet the needs of your students. Challenge course activities can also be designed for your school staff.

Food Service at Fairview
 
Fairview has a dining hall on site with the capacity to prepare a variety of nutritious meals. The cafeteria staff will work with you to plan a special menu for your students during their stay at Fairview. If time is a constraint, the cafeteria can prepare a picnic bag lunch for your students to eat. You are encouraged to make use of the excellent food service available at Fairview. Meals are served family style.

Rental Information

Nestled in the foothills of Fairview Mountain just outside of Clear Spring, Maryland, is Fairview Outdoor Education Center.  Fairview is a place where children, teachers and members of the community come to learn more about the environment in which we live.  The Fairview Outdoor Education Center is school owned and operated by the Board of Education of Washington County.  We encourage the public to utilize Fairview's Center's unique facilities.  Fairview Outdoor Education Center is available for rent by school, scout, church and community groups. Reservations are necessary and are approved on a first come basis.  Reservations should be made no later than three (3) weeks prior to expected use.  The  Fairview Food and Nutrition Services Staff will provide nutritious meals and evening snacks.  You can chose one of our menus or plan your own.  Application forms are available at the Fairview Outdoor Education Center or by calling 301-766-8138.
